By Helen Lester, Lynn Munsinger
Houghton Mifflin Harcdourt, $16.99, 32 pages

Lester and Munsinger, author and illustrator of Tacky the Penguin and The Wizard, the Fairy, and the Magic Chicken come together to create another classic character, Wodney Wat, a little rodent who cannot pronounce the letter R. Wodney Wat’s Wobot is the sequel to Hurray for Wodney Wat. When Wodney Wat receives a talking robot for his birthday he discovers that the robot will repeat everything Wodney Wat says but with the letter R sound included. When the largest and meanest rodent in school, Camilla Capybara returns in a huff, the talking robot proves to be the class’s only hope of sending mean Camilla Capybara on her way. This is a fun story for children just starting school or who might be struggling with some speech difficulties and lets us all know it is ok not to be perfect. Highly recommended for ages four and up.
