Many think they know everything about the “Old West.” Readers just may change their opinion after reading The Sixth Gun, a western fantasy graphic novel written by Cullen Bunn and illustrated by Brian Hurtt. Book 1: Cold Dead Fingers, the first of an ongoing series, takes place in the post-Civil War American West. The land is packed with ghoulish gunslingers, including a creepy, filled with black magic evil and bloodlust confederate general determined to escape from his coffin and exact revenge on those who stole his magic gun before killing him. The general’s gun is the last and most powerful of six revolvers that, when used together, create an unstoppable power. Drake Sinclair may be the only man who can stop the bloodshed. Not a traditional hero, Sinclair has his own agenda and a past full of haunting deeds. Together with damsel in distress Becky Montcrief, he is hunting for all six cursed weapons. What is the true purpose of the six-shooters? As one war ends, another is about to begin. Hurtt’s artwork is outstanding. The results of his creative collaboration with Bunn will leave readers wanting more. Look for Book 2: Crossroads and the continuation of this epic graphic story.
