Trucker Ghost Stories by Annie Wilder, who has also had her own paranormal experiences, collects (as advertised) first person accounts and tales of Haunted Highways, Weird Encounters, and Legends of the Road. Some may consider her and these stories crazy, but there certainly have been a lot of stories and people who believe such things. As the phrase goes there are things that science has not been able to explain. There have also been scientific discoveries and pronouncements that have also been hard to accept, as well.

“These firsthand accounts are as varied as the storytellers themselves-some are detailed and filled with emotion, others are brief and straightforward retellings of truly chilling events.”

One may counter that these stories come from minds playing with themselves or that some people should not be spending so much time alone on the road. There have been so many stories like these that ghosts, zombies, and UFOs, may have become archetypes in our subconscious. Not all the spirits presented are dark and dangerous, with there being some who would come to our help. There are also places described that are so desolate that they haunt. The book is interesting reading for the Halloween crowd even if the assembled authors do not have MFAs. Such scary stories can give a chill shiver if you believe they may be true.
