My three-year old and I are huge fans of the Scaredy Squirrel books. They are guaranteed to fill our bed time story routine with laughter and this one did not disappoint. It’s Scaredy Squirrel’s birthday and he is busy planning his party for one, himself. Just as he’s about to mail himself his invitation he finds a birthday card from his friend, Buddy. So he decides to invite Buddy to his party. Of course this requires an elaborate plan to handle any catastrophe that comes about but as usual nothing goes as planned.

My favorite parts of these stories are his detailed plans. My daughter loves going through each step and asking questions about what is going on. Some of the details were a little too in depth for my tastes in this one and it has really dragged out story time but my daughter loves it. She even laughed after reading the plan one night and said “the plan never works!” Fans of Scaredy Squirrel will enjoy adding this one to their library.
