The author is a well known and respected Canadian crime writer with many successful novels to her credit.

Don’t be concerned if you have not read the previous books in the series. This work stands alone. The author manages to effortlessly introduce the reader to the characters in the book, and quickly draws an interesting plot that is easy to follow, while still being unexpected and suspenseful. There are mysteries, romances, edgy family relationships, and glimpses into the dangers of daily police work.

For any fan of police and crime novels, this is a very satisfying read.
