By Paul Assaiante, James Zug, Portfolio, $29.95, 225 pages

10When it came to writing a book about what he knew best, Trinity men’s squash coach Paul Assaiante shared his unique and successful coaching techniques and his overall life philosophy in Run to the Roar: Coaching to Overcome Fear. Assaiante is the coach with the most wins in college sports history. In this book, you will learn more about the game and history of squash then you will ever want to know. If you are a person who zones out at the mere mention of sports, then this book is not for you.

By illustrating his lessons and philosophies through the stories he shares about his players and even his own son’s battle with drug addiction, Assaiante makes this book accessible and relevant to anyone.

Run to the Roar is an inspiring book, designed to motivate readers to use the same psychology he promoted on the court, to life off the court. I really enjoy the way Assaiante humbly talks about his own fears, anxiety, mistakes, regrets and the overall trial and errors in his life. This reassures readers that it is okay to be human, yet still empowers them to face whatever it is that scares them.
