Francesca Marinelli’s already-busy life is about to get even more complicated – she is the maid of honor at her best friend’s wedding and is suddenly thrown into the investigation into the Void, a magical construct that is infecting supernatural beings all over the world, including her best friend Triton and boyfriend, Saber. Francesca, Saber and Triton must race against the clock to take down the void before it’s too late.

Always the Vampire is a light and fun addition to the series of books centered around Francesca. Written in the first person, Francesca is a glib, witty character that makes an interesting focus of the story. The other characters are also nicely written and round out Francesca’s world. The story is well paced and holds the readers interest. The book gives enough background information so that it isn’t necessary to read the previous books. This is a great book for a vacation weekend.
