Ever wish your life had an owner’s manual? Jack Kornfield has written it for you in Bringing Home the Dharma. He demonstrates how Buddhist practices such as mindfulness and compassion do not require a monastery. You can become free and loving in the midst of the chaos of modern life. You can use your gifts to change the world in your own small sphere. For this reason, he addresses issues unique to the layperson, such as parenting and sexuality. Furthermore, Kornfield knows about his topic; he has practiced what he teaches for over 40 years, and he co-founded the Insight Meditation Society and Spirit Rock Meditation Center. It is a shame that Bringing Home the Dharma isn’t being distributed as an owner’s manual. The world would be a more peaceful and loving place.
