Reaching is a beautifully written book in rhyme that is fun and invigorating to read. Each page just flows into the next like a graceful stream. It concludes a young child reaching and touching new interests in his world. We all know how young children like to touch, feel and put everything in their mouth. This book brings back those pleasant memories of childhood and is a must book for your child. It is a sentimental story about how fast childhood really does go by. This is a great book to just go back and talk about each page of what is happening in the story.
Rhyming books are my favorites and children love to hear them over and over again and even memorize them. The illustrations by Susan Mitchell are vibrant and beautifully drawn. I love the colors and the small detail on the balloons, wrapping paper and flowers on the carrying bag. The illustrations of the people are very nicely depicted, and it’s like they are coming to life and are ready to walk off the page. I give this book two thumbs up!
