Crocheting, while an amazing skill, seems to be the lesser little sister of knitting. It pains me to say this because I am an avid crocheter who can perform only one stitch in knitting. However, this reputation for making kitschy items like Kleenex box covers comes from a long-time accumulation of dated patterns, while Knitting has erupted in modern fashion and stylish accessories.

So Pretty! Crochet comes forward with much needed modernized patterns for the crocheters of the 21st century.  Funky patterns for accessories, jewelry, slippers, scarves, hats and even home décor are presented in this book. While not a book for new found yarn lovers and beginners, So Pretty! Crochet will be a useful tool for those seeking to revive their stash of standby patterns. Each pattern in the book is nicely presented with an image, written instructions and illustrations to keep track of stitches. Instead of elaborate explanations with superfluous notes, instructions are to the point and easy to follow.

One of the most useful things So Pretty! Crochet offers is a list of crochet blogs, books and resources for readers—an invaluable list for those looking to fight back against the fashionable knitters!
