Funny poems and sketches are a staple in children’s literature and with good reason: they make us laugh. Killer Koalas from Outer Space, written by Andy Griffiths and illustrated by Terry Denton is a hilarious entry into the genre. A witty blend of poems, stories, comic strips and even a crossword, the book covers a wide variety of issues and characters, including the importance of good dental hygiene, alien blood-sucking grannies and, of cause, Killer Koalas from Outer Space and Lots of Other Very Bad Stuff that Will Make Your Brain Explode! This amusing book feels like a combination of Shel Silverstein, Dr. Seuss and a bit of South Park with very funny results. Adults as well as children will enjoy reading this book cover to cover (reading the back cover is important) and more than once. The illustrations match the stories and poems perfectly and the comic strips within the book are a special treat. Fair warning: this book may result in stomach pains from laughing too hard.
