Rage Within is the sequel to Dark Inside and picks up where the first book left off. Most of the world’s population has been wiped out by an apocalypse, but several teens are still battling for their lives. The rest of the remaining population is being turned into “Baggers,” murderous beings bent on creating a new world. Characters Aries, Clementine, Michael and Mason struggle to stay together and rely on one another to survive.

Roberts starts the book at a fast pace with intense and thrilling scenes. She knows how to create and bring to life well-rounded characters both old and new. She seems adept at mixing a character-driven story with a plot-driven story, two elements every reader hopes for. The only downside to the book is that the end seemed rushed, as if too much were poured in at the last second. However, it still leaves readers hoping for a third book and a conclusion to the story.
