Written in 1963, The Cow Went Over the Mountain is one of the classics. Written by Jeanette Krinsley, this book tells the story of Little Cow and her desire to explore. One day she tells her mother that she is going to the other side of the mountain because the grass is munchier over there. As Little Cow travels, she meets new friends and convinces them to come along on her adventure. She tells Little Frog that the bugs are crunchier on the other side of the mountain. She tells White Duck that the water is sploshier and she tells Little Pig that the mud is sloshier. Upon arriving at their destination, the new group of friends is astonished to discover that things aren’t so different on the other side of the mountain! Young readers will enjoy this heartwarming story about appreciating the comforts of home. Feodor Rojankovsky’s beautiful illustrations breathe life into the animals as they set out on their adventure. This Golden Book will likely become one of your family’s favorites.
