Tortorella’s forte is explaining new media and its promotional possibilities. Because he has a career as a web designer, he is on firm ground when dealing with web sites, graphics, branding, various social media platforms, and the like. His emphasis is on the do it yourself ethic, and he provides alternatives, sources of useful information, and insider recommendations. Many musician readers may well blanch at the time commitment required to follow the author’s admonitions.
When the author turns to songwriting and copyright, the reader is better served to look at other books that have more detailed and more accurate information on that subject.
