By Alison Sweeney

I love a good chick lit novel. Most stories involve gossip and celebrities and suck you in to a fantasy world. The Star Attraction by Alison Sweeney fits the bill perfectly. This novel is about a publicist named Sophie, who is addicted to her Blackberry and makes work her top priority. She starts representing a hot Hollywood actor and the chemistry is instant. Unfortunately, this chemistry gets Sophie in trouble at her job and things take a turn for the worse. Sophie is a very likable character and I found myself rooting for her even when she was being particularly stupid when dealing with her hot client.

This book easily captures your attention and Sweeney does an excellent job weaving in what could be true stories from what she has experienced in her years in the business. Sweeney even slips in a sly reference to her character from Days of Our Lives which is a really cute little addition to the novel. Sweeney did an amazing job with her first novel and if she continues to write I can see her stories continuing to be juicy and entertaining. I found this book to be a fun read and is perfect to take to the beach or pool to read while catching some rays. I can’t wait to see what else Sweeney comes up with. This book is very well written for a first novel and I see big things in her future. Definitely check this out if you love all things Hollywood!
