Otto is a dog and he home alone but he wants someone to play with. He decides to drive to the beach to find a friend. He sits on the beach, puts on his sunscreen and waits. He meets a crab but the crab is too crabby to play.  The fish swim the other way when Otto tries to play with them. He finally plays with a cat, but when Otto’s swim trunks fall down, the cat laughs at him. Otto is sad and decides to take a nap. He wakes up when he hears a bark. It is Noodle Poodle. They dig up bones and play all day long. Otto is no longer sad because he has a new friend. Otto Goes to the Beach is a level one reading book that will delight your little reader with bright colors, a simple story line and humor from the silly pictures.  The book teaches valuable lessons about friendship including making new friends and waiting to find the “right” friend that has shared interests. This is a cute book to add to your child’s summer reading list.
