Do you have a curious child who wants to know the how, why, and when of the world? When did the Dinosaurs die? When did we start counting time? When did cats start living in homes with people? When did people start eating candy? Some questions will surprise you, and some will make the adult who remembers when these events occurred, incredibly pleased that they are included. Current Jimmy Fallon, a very young Bill Gates and the Weinermobile make an appearance in Big Book of When: 801 Facts Kids Want to Know is a book that is hard to put down. With each question the pages are filled with full color real life pictures. The back has an excellent glossary and index for quick reference, because the book starts off explaining that it is not intended to be read from beginning to end, but to be read when you have a question and want the answer. Once a question is answered, there are other great hints, spin off questions and answers, along with several experiments to try at home on your own. Kids of all ages will enjoy learning the answers to questions. A book like this is a wonderful example of why we can’t always rely on the internet to give us a simple explanation. This book keeps you asking questions and wanting to learn more.
