Alex the ant is very excited that he is going to the beach. Alex is a young scout and it is time to leave the anthill. He stops by the food storage rooms and the resting chambers so that he can get ready to go. The sea captain tells him to be careful. As the ants were on their journey, they left a scent trail so that they could find their way back home. Alex learns about carrying wood and sees the ocean. When Alex is asked to hold the telescope he gets excited. Little does he realize that he will save the work group when a dog shows up. He proves he would be a great scout, after all.
