From their sparkly covers to the phonetic pronunciations of three syllable words, Fly Guy Presents books are highly approachable children’s nonfiction. Fly Guy was first introduced in 2005 when he met his friend Buzz. Now Fly Guy and Buzz have become explorers and have covered such material as Dinosaurs, Space, Sharks and (gulp!) Girls. In this Firefighters edition, Fly Guy presents the amount of water contained in a fire truck as 25 bath tubs; the height of the fire truck ladder as five giraffes standing on top of each other; and the fact that fire dogs wear safety gear too. Other pertinent information, including Stop-Drop-and-Roll, never playing with matches and calling 9-1-1 in an emergency, is among the colorful, real image pages, annotated by Tedd Arnold’s beloved characters. Pictures and storyline can be viewed in any order, which means sticky toddler fingers can lead their own learning experience.
