The front cover of Fates is beautiful and grabbed this reviewer’s attention right away; it made this reviewer want to read the book and find out more about the story. Fates is a fantasy book about Corinthe, a girl far away from her home – exiled actually – who has been condemned to kill humans before she can return. She has nearly completed her punishment when she finds out her last assigned kill is Luc, a boy she seems to have fallen in love with. Can she find it in herself to kill him so she can be set free?

“It’s just sometimes I feel like I’m on the outside of all of it, you know? Like I’m locked out.”

Fates is magically written, and the story flows smoothly from beginning to end. Having read this book twice, this reviewer enjoyed it even more the second time around. The characters are personal and easy to relate to, and Corinthe’s conflict appeals to your emotions. It would be great to see this book as part of an ongoing series. Definitely add Fates to your “must read” list.
