Everyone in Little T’s family is excited for a trip to the zoo – except her. But what was it that scared her last time? She can’t recall. So begins her family’s attempts to remember just what exactly frightened Little T. Starting with A, B, C, Little T’s mom, dad and sister recreate the animals in the zoo using common household items. Clever illustrations will have young readers guessing which animal adorns each page as the family works through the alphabet of animals. If readers can’t quite figure out that animal that starts with Q or X, turn to the back book jacket inside cover for sketches of each animal. When the family finally does go to the zoo, readers will delight when Little T recognizes the source of her fear. Fraidyzoo is a delightful read and a good book for any child learning to face their fears.
