Description
Isolde Oberreiter, or Auntie Poldi as she’s known to friends and family in Torre Archirafi, Sicily, is a force to be reckoned with at the best of times. When she gets a nocturnal visit from two men from the Vatican she’s never met, she knows something is afoot. According to them, a woman has disappeared after taking part in an exorcism. What’s more, Sister Rita, a nun involved in the exorcism, has been found dead. It might be suicide, but then again, it might be murder. Although Poldi didn’t know the women, they might have known of her, ergo the visit. Plus, the Vatican seems to be missing a statue somehow connected to the women. Poldi thinks she can help find it because there is nothing she likes better than a new case to sink her teeth in. But what happens if she ends up a target herself?
Giordano has created another hilarious novel showcasing the flamboyant Poldi and her adorable novel-writing nephew. Poldi has everything she needs for a terrific Sicilian life: friends, family, and a man she adores. Even when Death sits on her shoulder, she never gives up. That’s not her style, which is what makes her such a fun, lovable character. So much so that I can’t wait to see what she does next.
