Books are not for eating. A young goat who walks into a bookstore will soon learn that books are for reading and exploration, not for eating.

Leopold the goat owns a fairly popular and successful bookstore in the middle of town. He knows the perfect book for every person who walks through his doors. But he was not always like that. In his younger days he ate books instead of reading them, until one day he came across a book that opened up new worlds in his imagination and he realized that books were not for eating.

One day in the bookstore, a young goat walks in and begins eating books recommended by Leopold. Leopold is at a loss for what to do until he hands the young goat his favorite book. Instead of eating the book, the young goat reads the book and explores a brand new world with his imagination.

The art is detailed and colorful. There are very few words per page, so this can be a work for parents and children to read out loud together; or for young children to read out loud on their own.
