From the simplest of meals and easy pairings all the way to delectable homemade dinners, Cooking for Two: Comfort Food Recipes for Couples, Roommates, or Friends helps solve the age-old question: What’s for dinner? This cookbook takes the guessing out of portion size, with its recipes ranging from bountiful pancakes and waffles with just enough batter for two to mini meatloaves and small-batch muffins. The recipes range from the simplest of flavors with egg club sandwiches to a more exciting option of prosciutto-wrapped scallops with lemon caper sauce. Mini cakes and pies make the art of baking wantful and not wasteful, while the simple addition of sides such as cilantro rice and avocado spread can elevate an everyday meal into something more exciting.

Marie W. Lawrence will keep her readers happily fed with 150 recipes for breakfasts, appetizers, salads, soups, sandwiches, dinners, and desserts, and even a highlight on holidays. While these recipes are easy and appetizing, I found myself flipping past many great recipes since there weren’t many pictures to catch my eye or compare to. With that being noted, this is still a perfect cookbook for new roommates just starting out or even members of the older generation living together or alone.
