Description
Death by Beach Read is a light read that, you guessed it, would be perfect to bring to the beach. Librarian Lucy and her fiancee Connor, the mayor of their small North Carolina town, have moved into an old historic cottage on Nags Head Beach. Purchased from the Harper family, Lucy and Connor are fixing the old house up with the help of Connor’s dad. There are tales about the house being haunted after Jo, the Harper sister, saw what she thought was the ghost of her mean grandfather decades ago. Strange things start to happen including odd noises in the house and Lucy finds herself a bit scared. Then a man shows up dead in their house and the mystery of the house unfolds.
This book is an easy-to-read mystery with fun, quirky characters that fit right in a small-town setting. Charles the cat who is always by Lucy’s side is funny and a hero in his own rite. I loved how author Eva Gates described the beautiful setting with its lighthouse and old town charm. This book is perfect for fans of mystery and suspense.
