Description
Kat wants to start the new school year off right. She has plans to be the best feminist ever and also to get a date with Hot Josh (can those two goals co-exist?). When her first feminist act brings accidental attention to the class pervert, she holds some concerns about her goal. Thankfully, her best friends are supportive and her goal is true so she pushes forward. When a fiasco of epic proportions humiliates her in front of Hot Josh, she thinks life is over but no! He asks her out anyway! When long-time nemesis Trudy shows up instead of Hot Josh, Kat falls into a spiral of self-doubt and overthinking that she may never overcome.
Written as a diary with extended entries, Kat’s journey into feminism and just being a good human is inspiring and realistic. Some moments are laugh-out-loud funny while others pull at the heartstrings. The writing is similar to Louise Rennison’s series about Georgia Nicolson, and the sequel is already available. While the story slows in the middle to address a serious issue, Kat gets up to her shenanigans quickly to wrap it up. Pure hilarious teen drama with a very satisfying end.
