Grave Intervention: A Novel

Dr. Amir Hadad is hearing a voice. The voice appears to have grave intentions, as it causes the death of two patients, as well as the car accident of one of his friends. The voice appears to belong to an Irishman who cannot find rest until his body is found and buried. If Amir wants to keep his family and friends safe, he will have to find the body and give this ghost peace.

The premise of this story was intriguing to me, especially as I love a good ghost story. However, the characters themselves felt a bit flat to me. There wasn’t a lot of depth there. I found it a bit unrealistic how quickly everyone accepted the ghost theory, particularly amongst the scientific community, who tend to look for other explanations first before arriving at the supernatural. Sabiha was probably the best character in the whole story and the one that felt the most authentic. Before reading this book, I wasn’t aware that radiologists actually performed surgeries.

Overall, a great idea for a story, but one that didn’t live up to expectations.
