High Treason: A Novel

We rated this book:

High Treason is the third novel in the Tom Locke series written by Sean McFate. The plot centers on the mysterious assassination of the Vice-President of the United States. Most are convinced that it is the work of Islamic terrorists, but Locke is certain that his former employer, the private security firm Apollo Outcomes, is to blame. He comes out of hiding after the events of the previous novel and meets FBI agent Jennifer Lin, who is also convinced that the assassination was orchestrated by the government and foreign powers. Together, they must get to the bottom of the conspiracy, expose the real perpetrators, and ultimately, exonerate themselves.

Like the previous two novels, High Treason is a fantastic action thriller. The author, himself a military officer, private military contractor, and professor of strategy, crafts a plot that is very much believable and authentic. It is clear throughout the book that the author has deep inside knowledge of military-grade weapons and explosives, the nuances of private military companies, and strategy. In addition, the book’s characters are well-developed, very likeable, and personable.

I am a big fan of military action thrillers, and High Treason did not disappoint. If you like a plot that is authentic and full of action, then you will enjoy Sean McFate’s novels.”
