Description
“Ever since she was a little girl, Shanti Mohapti has wanted one thing: to be a queen. Now, at the age of twenty-nine, she has achieved that through her marriage to King Sanyu II of Njaza. It’s exactly the opportunity she’s been looking for. Sanyu’s father, King Sanyu I, freed the country from colonial oppression, but since then it has failed to live up to its potential. Shanti is certain she will be able to work wonders. First, though, she must deal with a reticent husband and a council that seems to want to work against her.
The first in a new series, How to Catch a Queen is a powerhouse of a romance. Though the sex scenes are sparser than in other romances, they more than make up for it by hitting hard. More importantly, though, the relationship between Shanti and Sanyu is built on more than mutual desire. It’s built on love for Njaza as well, and the desire for a better future. This is, in my opinion, exactly what a contemporary romance ought to be: a delightful balance between humor, tenderness, and plot twists that have actual stakes. Even if I weren’t already a fan of romance, this book would have won me over completely.”
