From the author of Z for Zelda and A Good Neighborhood comes a character portrait about three sisters, each dealing with their own set of problems underneath their strong, put-together exteriors. In the wake of their mother’s death, the sisters come together to grieve and pack up their family cottage in Maine to be sold as part of their mother’s last wishes. Then enter C.J., a recently incarcerated man who also happens to be on a journey of his own in Maine. When their worlds collide, all three sisters are forced to confront the secrets they’ve been hiding from one another.

It All Comes Down to This reads similarly to many other family drama novels. Personally, I found the Geller sisters a bit unlikeable and difficult to connect to, making this story a bit harder for me to get through. But it does have the usual elements of heartbreak, unexpected twists, and reconciliation that fans of novels such as these will enjoy.
