Description
This book is great for older elementary school kids to talk about some more in-depth concepts concerning the weather. The author is a TV meteorologist, so you know he knows all the concepts inside and out.
The text does a great job of explaining the topics in a way that seems more grown-up but is still appropriate for children. I really like how they show some of the more unusual objects with illustrations. I thought the section about how they watch the animals was very interesting.
The illustrations are fantastic. I think they work really well for this nonfiction book. I look forward to seeing more work by this artist.
My eight-year-old son really enjoyed learning about cloud formations. He also liked learning about the elephants in the camps.
This is a great book for teachers to use when going over the weather in science. It’s also great for any kid who is interested in the weather or being a meteorologist someday. This book seems to be part of a series of science books and I look forward to reading the other books with my children too.
