Mr. Thatcher wants to build the perfect house. He builds and fixes and adds and sands and polishes, and the house grows and grows, but somehow it doesn’t feel like home. One day there is a knock at the door. It is the witch from the fairytale neighborhood. She says the children have been nibbling on her house, and it isn’t safe anymore. So she moves into Mr. Thatcher’s house even though he says no. More characters from the neighborhood show up and decide to move in for one reason or another. Mr. Thatcher continues to object, but they just keep moving in. Soon the house is filled with music, wonderful aromas, and happy chatter. What is it that makes a perfect house anyway?
