Sleepy Sheepy, it turns out, isn’t very sleepy at all. It might be time for bed, but Sleepy Sheepy would much rather play music and paint pictures and eat cookies and milk than go to bed. It doesn’t matter what the clock says, Sleepy Sheepy is not sleepy at all. Even though Sleepy Sheepy’s eyes might droop and he becomes quite weepy, he insists he is not sleepy! In fact, he is wide awake. Will his parents ever get Sleepy Sheepy into bed for the night? What will it take?

Sometimes it just doesn’t feel like bedtime to kids even when it is, and this story recognizes that. Her writing is lively and lyrical, the perfect attitude for this story. Illustrator Pete Oswald has created perfectly charming characters and a setting to carry this story. Every page is filled with fun details that will keep young listeners searching the pages for all the fun packed in there. The best part is, little ones reluctant to get to bed will be enchanted right to sleep.
