Description
“A digital footprint can affect more than just future employment choices. For Signal Deere, it means being classified as a Class A, those who are most likely to murder and maim. This classification clinches her sentencing to life without parole in the gruesome death of her best friend, Rose. She chooses to enter a program for Class As under eighteen, realizing too late it trains assassins. Her first days in camp feature an obstacle course with a three-story building to scale, a chemical that will decompose living tissues, and weapons training. She knows she is not supposed to be here – after all, she didn’t kill her best friend. However, the embedded kill switch received right after arrival will make escape almost impossible, but how else will she prove her innocence?
If this is the sign of this year’s literary choices, 2021 is going to be a fantastic year. This book rivals Jennifer Lynn Barnes’s The Naturals series and Allen Zadoff’s The Unknown Assassin series. This could easily have been expanded into a duology or trilogy, but Sparks does not make readers wait. The conclusion is mind-blowing and so convoluted even the best Sherlock will not see it coming. Fabulous romance, fabulous cast, fabulous mystery.”
