Description
When you’re little your parents teach you to Tell No Lies, but when you work undercover that’s the foundation of the job. Kara Quinn deals with this constantly as she is on loan to Matt Costa and his FBI mobile unit. They start out investigating the death of a college student near Tucson which becomes ever more complicated as it leads to the discovery of illegal waste disposal and human trafficking. Kara’s undercover skills and history as a con artist will be put to the test on this case, while a budding romance with her boss, Matt, will cause her to question what she really wants.
What a great follow-up to The Third to Die where we’re first introduced to Kara, Matt and the whole mobile FBI unit. I think I would last about five minutes undercover. It’s fun to watch Kara do it so seamlessly. The dynamics between team members add to the complexity of the characters. So many hot topics were addressed in this story, but in a way that allows you to see it from a different perspective. I don’t know where the author will take Kara and Matt next, but I look forward to finding out.
