Description
Dennis Knuckleyard lived a life of juvenile delinquency until he experienced a moment of clarity during the blitzkrieg in London. The bombings destroyed his home and took his family. Nine years later, Dennis lives a life of banality working at a bookshop for the ill-tempered and sickly Ada. One fateful day, Ada assigns Dennis to purchase some literary odds and ends from another bookshop.
When Dennis shows his new finds to Ada, she reveals to him that one book in his haul is not authentic. Ada demands Dennis return “A London Walk” at once. Dennis doesn’t understand Ada’s response, but soon Dennis learns of a newly discovered corpse by the bookstore and he is alarmed. Elements of the underworld are looking for this book and Dennis’ life is in danger. He will need luck along with assistance from outside elements to emerge unscathed.
