The Haunting of Leigh Harker
Leigh Harker has lived in the same house for fifteen years, and she has had the same routine that whole time. Get up, go to work, come home, go to bed, repeat. All of a sudden, things start to change. There is a presence in her home, one that turns the radio on and off, opens curtains and doors, and looms over her as she tries to sleep. Leigh loves her home and does not want to give it up, despite the malevolent presence. It seems to be coming from the door under the stairs that she never paid much attention to because it was always locked. The Haunting of Leigh Harker will push her to her limits and cause her to find the truth about her house and herself.
I have a love/hate relationship with Darcy Coates. Her books are so good, but they are also so terrifying. You can’t put one down and the next thing you know, you’re reading about super creepy, evil things late at night when you’re all alone. I tend to sleep with the light on after finishing one of her books. If you love ghost stories, I highly recommend you read this book, as well as any of her others.
