Description
Sean Wren is The Immortality Thief. He’s a smuggler who specializes in linguistics and is blackmailed into retrieving the Philosopher’s Stone from a derelict spaceship that is parked next to a dying star that is set to go supernova in a few days. The problem is the spaceship has been there for a thousand years and so should be uninhabited. Sean finds out pretty quickly that’s not the case, as everyone is looking for the Stone, including the Republic, the last free human government, and their enemies the Ministers, a humanoid race bent on ruling humanity. The ship is also crawling with genetically-engineered monsters, traps and a killer AI. Sean’s going to need that Stone just to survive this job.
This book is crazy long, and yet it goes by fast. You can’t help but get sucked into the story just like some of the characters are sucked into space. I loved the dynamic between Sean, Indigo, and Tamara. Overall, if you are a sci-fi fan this book will be perfect for you. Full of fast-paced action, lovable characters and a future that doesn’t sound too implausible, you won’t want to put it down.
