When Sir Henry March finds Eliza Broad stumbling toward him, bleeding and frightened, the only thing he can do is help her. The more time he spends with her, the more he learns about her tragic history: her stepfather sold her virginity to a cruel man, and she only just escaped with her life. The man who bought her isn’t content with letting her just walk away, though, and until he is dealt with, even Sir Henry might not be able to keep her safe. He isn’t the only one she is in danger from either. One of his connections might be the most dangerous man Sir Henry has ever had to face.

The Innkeeper’s Daughter is a thrill ride of a book, sweet and suspenseful and sexy by turns. While I didn’t care for how flat the villains were, I have to admit they were terrifying all the same. I couldn’t put this book down, and I’m eager to read the sequel for more Regency spy excitement. The Gentleman’s Daughter is due out in July, and you can bet I’ve already got it preordered.
