Description
Monna Locke is hired to open a safe at a mansion in Malibu. Not long after she cracks it, heavily armed men attack her and she escapes with the contents. She discovers that her employer is not who he says he is and that the mansion job was more of an interview for an even bigger job, cracking one of the most impossible safes in the world. Monna just wants to go home and ignore this job, but her employer has something she desperately needs. Monna has two days to crack The Lock Box or lose everything she cares about.
I had a hard time getting into this story, even after seeing all the blurbs from other authors I enjoy. It was a bit difficult connecting with any of the characters and I couldn’t really understand Locke. There were a lot of name drops of other characters without much explanation, like you should already know who they are and why they’re important. So, while it wasn’t something I particularly enjoyed, I think others who enjoy high-stakes heists full of violence and action, will thoroughly enjoy this book.
