Description
Instant pots are all the rage these days. Their ability to get a whole meal ready in a hurry fits well with today’s lifestyles. The book opens with a great index of one hundred recipes that also indicate whether they are Keto, Paleo, Dairy-free, Gluten-free, Vegetarian, or Vegan. This is followed by an extensive introductory section that will educate readers on how to best use their instant pot, what staples should be stocked in one’s pantry, what other kitchen tools are necessary, and general cooking charts for different foods. Recipes follow in nine sections — 7 Ingredients or Less, Soups & Stews, Pasta, Rice, Poultry, Meat, Seafood, Vegetables & Sides, and Dessert (yes, you can make a cake in an instant pot). Each recipe has an introductory paragraph, a timeline for prep, an ingredients list, a series of instructions with instructive photos, and other tips. The only thing missing is nutritional information. It would be nice to know the calories, carbs, etc. per serving. The variety of the recipes is great. Sure there is a Beef Stew recipe, but there are also Asiago Beef Florentine Puffs (don’t miss that one!) and Chicken Shawarma Rice, and lots of other international recipes. This is a winner.
