Description
In Waffles and Pancake: Flight or Fright, kittens Waffles and Pancake get on their first airplane with their Mom-Cat to visit Gramps and Grammers. But as they board their flight, Waffles has the jitters and gets scared. He asks how the plane will fly if it doesn’t flap its wings as birds do. This book does a wonderful job of guiding young readers through all of the steps of flying. Waffles and Pancake listen to the flight attendant explain emergency procedures and also experience a bit of turbulence. They are also taken up to meet the pilots which temporarily helps calm Waffles of his fear of flying.
This is a great book for children ages two to ten. The characters are cute and fun. And the book itself may be helpful for parents who are planning a trip on a plane for first-time travelers. I could even see bringing this book on a plane along with paper and crayons for kids to draw their own adventure as Waffles and Pancake do on the plane. Fun, colorful illustrations that will capture the attention of even the youngest readers.
