Description
Those anxiety sufferers looking for quick relief will find this book challenging. In fact, it has created anxiety in this reader by detailing the work necessary to alleviate anxiety. And, for some, the mystical and extrasensory beliefs of the author may be off-putting.
The author is not a medical practitioner, but a spiritual coach. Nonetheless, her methodical definitions in glossaries throughout the book and the twenty-two pages of exercises would seem to be helpful to those who have not been helped by more traditional methods. In fact, cures for anxiety seem to be elusive, with sometimes only a medicinal recourse.
The author’s method seems to be to track the cause of the worry, sometimes going back to childhood trauma and exploring the anxiety rather than trying to suppress it. With current states of anxiety at all-time highs — affecting young people in greater numbers- this book is a thoughtful approach to mitigating the suffering.
