Six Crimson Cranes

There is nothing Princess Shiori wants more than for her betrothed to disappear, and when her magic runs out of control during the morning betrothal ceremony, it seems to be a stroke of luck. But her magic only catches the attention of Raikama, her stepmother, who hides a secret of her own. Raikama banishes Shiori far away and without a voice. She searches for her brothers, cursed to be six crimson cranes. Shiori is their only hope of ever returning home, but it won’t be easy, especially when her betrothed keeps getting in the way.

Six Crimson Cranes is a magical story with twists and turns, fun characters, just the right amount of romance, and the best part, dragons. Shiori has one mission, brake the curse her stepmother put on her and her brothers, but the road isn’t easy and through her trials she changes and grows. Her brothers, though they aren’t around a lot, are all very different from each other and all clearly love their little sister. It didn’t take me long to read; it’s fast paced and once I started I didn’t want to put it down. The ending wasn’t left a total cliff hanger, but I’ll still be impatiently waiting for the second part.
