In the last few years, there has been a lot of emphasis on the gluten-free diet. What many don’t realize is people have been living gluten-free for years because of health problems cause by gluten. Nowadays, there are more options than ever for living a gluten-free life. In Gluten-Free Makeovers, Beth Hillson has taken classic dishes and given them a gluten-free twist. Hillson provides an overview of the gluten-free life and then dives into gluten-free alternatives to popular dishes. She has recipes for muffins, breads, and scones – many things you never knew could be gluten-free!

My favorite was her “sweets” section where she gives recipes for brownies, cakes, and cookies. I’m hopeless in the kitchen, but her recipes were easy to understand and simple to make. Hillson has a section for meals ranging from breakfast to entrees, but I found the desserts and breads sections to be the best. This book is great for anyone who lives gluten-free and may not be the best cook in the world. Everything I made was delicious and simple, and I can’t wait to share these recipes with my friends. I doubt they will even notice they are all gluten-free!
