Spectacular Wineries of Washington is a coffee table book for the wine connoisseur. Famed restaurateur Tom Douglas wrote the foreword for this book, in which there are more than 70 wineries arranged in alphabetical order. Each winery has a page of information and photos. The information includes the location, a blurb about the winery, its ownership and background. Some winery pages include suggested food pairings and tasting hours. Selected wineries even have QR codes listed, which link to video presentations.
The book reads almost like a travel guide, with beautiful photographs of the versatile Washington landscape. The reader will recognize some familiar names but will also be introduced to some wineries they might not know about. The index is well organized, with addresses, phone numbers and websites provided for each winery.
If nothing else, this book with mesmerize the reader with its depictions of the “wine lifestyle.” Readers will be motivated to plan tasting trips throughout the state of Washington.
