Going Dark

College is either a tough time or the time of your life, sometimes both for certain people. For Josh and Amelia, it is presenting as the time of their lives. Amelia Ashley is a down-to-earth girl, loved and adored by all, and a social media influencer who brings her audience to the light of the delicious foods hidden in hole in the walls. Josh is the devoted boyfriend who is along for the ride but doesn’t mind due to his affection for Amelia.

After a trip to Rome for her vlog, Josh comes home alone, with Amelia presumably missing; then her blood is found in his suitcase on his clothes. A viral conversation of #whereisameliaashley takes over the country in an effort to locate a girl whom everyone has grown to adore.

Going Dark is quick to let you know that something is amiss within the first couple of chapters, but as the reader continues on de la Cruz’s psychological thriller, they are sucked further into the hole of mystery and uncertainty. The reader should get comfortable feeling surprised as the ending will pull at heartstrings and leave the reader as the ultimate decider as to what happens.
