Trap Kitchen: The Art of Street Cocktails is the third cookbook by the team of Spank and News (Malachi Jenkins and Roberto Smith). After the success of their first two books, the culinary pair goes to New York City to explore the phenomenon of the street cocktail. With extensive research at NYC bars, clubs, and any other locations one can find a drink, Spank and News concocted and compiled eighty-one all-new drink recipes. In the tradition of prior Trap Kitchen books, the drinks and names have a very West Coast vibe.

The recipes in this book are relatively simple to follow, though some of the ingredients tend to be top-shelf. Any book of cocktails coming out of Compton needs to include an ode to Snoop Dogg’s Gin and Juice. This refreshing twist on the classic is tasty and needs to be consumed with the appropriate soundtrack. The Black Mamba is a rum and Chambord drink with raspberry undertones. It’s easy to mix and great for hot days. Pour a little out for Kobe and enjoy. With the forward by Ruddy Ricch, this book of fun and innovative drinks has the Trap Kitchen feel.
