Recipes include the usual list of ingredients and excellent instructions, how many servings, total time, and a paragraph explaining why this recipe works written in very conversational language. Most recipes have mouth-watering photographs. A table in the back has nutritional information for all recipes. Make sure to try the recipe for Hoppin’ John, a tasty Low-country favorite. And don’t be afraid to try something fancy for a crowd like Crown Roast of Pork. Besides the recipe, there are wonderful instructive photos showing how to prepare it and even how to flip it.
