When I first got The New 5-Gallon Bucket Book, I thought the title was a play on words about an abundance of activities; well, I was partly right. The book does include many projects, hacks, and upcycles, but they all involve upcycling a five-gallon bucket. Inside are five categories of upcycles that include inside the house, in the wild, for use with animals, for play, and outside for gardening or display. Each project would require a handyman to help out unless you are feeling ambitious yourself.
Everything about the projects is explained on a step-by-step basis, with a tools and materials list included––this is much appreciated. This reviewer does not have the tools necessary to complete any of the projects, but reading about them and seeing the pictures clearly shows how to do it all. Who knew there were so many uses for a five-gallon bucket?! I certainly didn’t. It also surprised me how potentially easy it is to obtain five-gallon buckets from various businesses.
